EXTRA: If you’re interested in writing, as well as reading, I highly recommend joining a writing group. I have been a part of four writing groups in the past and all have had a positive impact on my writing. Being part of a group pushes you to expand your thinking and your writing. Colleen Hoover shares how being part of a writing group influences her: “Talking about it with other writers helps me see better ways to tell the story, sometimes it even triggers scenes I hadn’t considered. I also get feedback from people who read very differently than I do, so they’ll come back at me with ways they saw the story–this is really helpful for me.”
“The book is full of raw emotion. Each character is fully developed and lovable in his/her own way. The characters are so well written that you don’t even realize there are more than one, sometimes two, love interests. Each individual character has something to offer in the story. Even though some of the characters take a back seat from others, you’re still invested in their stories and want to know how it all ends. I went into this book not really knowing what to expect and ended up reading for hours on the porch with a cold beer and a bag of chips. This is the type of book that will make you think about relationships and how they should be in “real life”. The ending blew me away, for me it was intense but realistic. Colleen Hoover has come up with something special with this book.
