MCQs in Internal Medicine – An indispensable revision tool in medicine, specially for undergraduate students
MCQs in Internal Medicine are probably the most sophisticated and widely used component of objective tests to evaluate a student’s proficiency and depth of knowledge in a particular subject. MCQs are increasingly used for various entrance examinations where ranking of students is of paramount importance. Unexpected failure may result from lack of familiarity with the MCQformat. This is why I tried to write a book on MCQ.s dealing with the vast and everchanging science of medicine for different postgraduate entrance examinations in the country. This volume contams 13 chapters, 1650 questions and covers all major aspects of medicine. All the questions have been arranged systematically. I tried my best to minimize errors by repeated checking. All the questions have their single choice answer present at the bottom of the page for the purpose of quick and easy reading.
It has been observed that questions from the field of medicine cover 15-40% of total bulk of the paper. As questions are asked from every nook and comer of a textbook, it is suggested that students should read the text in between the lines. I hope students will be bene.fitted in their cut-throat competition of postgraduate entrance examinations like MCL AilMS, PGI, BHU, CMC-Vellore, AMU, JIPMER, NIMHANS and different state-controlled examinations, if they pry into it.
I express may sincere thanks to Mr Kaustuv Paul of Crest Infomedia for his constant cooperation in publishing the book. Lastly, I owe my heartfelt gratitude to my family members who assisted me in every step to write the book. Finally, I should say that I will heartily accept sincere suggestions from thoughtful readers.
